The Department of Public Policy is housed in the new Hartford Downtown Campus of the University. The campus is a rebirth of the Hartford Times Building. Founded in 1817, Hartford Times was the state’s original flagship newspaper. The epicenter of Hartford; four presidents, Truman, Eisenhower, Johnson, John F. Kennedy election campaign have spoken and inspired from the steps it’s portico that the University has preserved for the next generation of leaders.

Today the campus is a rebirth of government and nonprofit learning and action. 500 feet from the doors of Hartford City Hall. You are learning and working (through the Department’s renowned internship program for MPA and MPP students) in the heart of Connecticut’s legislative government, state agencies and 2500 major nonprofits.
