Master of Arts
in Survey Research
At UConn, we train survey research professionals, in both traditional and cutting-edge methodologies, to gather data about attitudes, opinions, behaviors, or demographics and analyze that information to answer complex questions about society.
Survey researchers play a critical role in market research, which allows businesses to measure the effectiveness of media campaigns, determine the feasibility of new products and services, and make strategic business decisions. Public opinion polling is an avenue of survey research which helps public and political leaders, as well as non-profit organizations, to gauge public opinion on a variety of topics. Surveys are also an effective tool for policy analysis and program evaluation.
Senior Study Director
After more than a decade in the survey research industry, I realized I needed a Masters Degree in the field to advance further in my career. However, with my husband’s career and children, moving to attend a program was not an option. The UConn online Master of Arts in Survey Research offered the flexibility I needed. Through the UConn online program, I was able to complete my Masters Degree in Survey Research while working full-time and maintaining a healthy family life. I learned a great deal from course work and professors, and I was also extremely pleased with the level of experience that my fellow students brought to the program. Having all this collective industry experience made the class discussion extremely vibrant and engaging. I am so glad I completed this program!
