Training Program Coordinator, Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice

Vasi Gournaris is the Training Program Coordinator for the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice at the Chief State’s Attorney’s Office. Vasi currently manages professional development, grants administration, and special program initiatives that expand the Division’s effort towards developing training opportunities for its employees, emphasizing community engagement, procedural justice, and public safety.

Vasi began her public service after working in the corporate world as a global supply chain manager in New York City, by supplementing her professional career through fundraising, victim advocacy, training and community outreach, and as an adult education instructor with local non-profit organizations. While maintaining her commitment to adult literacy, Vasi transitioned into the Connecticut legal sector as a litigation paralegal with the Judicial Branch, managing a civil litigation department in a private law firm, and then with the Division of Criminal Justice. In her current role, Vasi combines her diverse experience as an educator, manager and advocate, using research-based evidence to expand and implement employee training and development initiatives.
