Liberty Bank Foundation
Sue Murphy is Executive Director of the Liberty Bank Foundation, which she has managed since its inception in 1997. She often says she has “the best job in the world.”
The Liberty Bank Foundation’s funding priorities are education that leads to economic success for low/moderate-income families; promotion of affordable housing and ending homelessness; and building the capacity of nonprofits engaged in these areas. Sue counts herself lucky to have been involved in setting the foundation’s direction, as well as in guiding its evolution from a charitable donor into a strategic grantmaker, convener, collaborator, and advocate for the nonprofit sector. Sue spends most of her time working on community initiatives and partnerships. Outside of work, you’ll find her tending her enormous flower garden or chasing after her rambunctious Dalmatian. Her one claim to fame is that she has sung at Carnegie Hall—twice!
