Journey Home

Roy Mainelli is a member of the Journey Home team whose mission is to ensure a home for all. We believe the most powerful way to do this is collectively- by working together with service providers, elected officials, businesses and local communities to end homelessness in Greater Hartford. We will build partnerships, advance innovative solutions and achieve enduring, systemic change. At Journey Home, Roy leads the Career Pathways Employment Program which is focused on providing a path out of poverty for the low skilled under-served residents through job development and meaningful employment with the following attributes: livable wages, self-sufficiency, skills for the 21st century, and career growth through a collaborative mentoring program. Our program encompasses both pre and post-employment training. The signature element of the program is the commitment by the employer of full-time employment prior to successfully completing the training program for the under-served residents.

Prior to joining Journey Home, Roy had a successful career at UTC Aerospace Systems with leadership positions in strategic planning, program, and manufacturing operations management.  Roy holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut and a MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
