MPA Fellows, Class of 2021
Human Resources Manager, Human Resources, UConn
Michelle Fournier currently serves as the University of Connecticut’s Compensation Manager. As the Compensation Manager, she provides consultation to leadership and staff on classification and compensation decisions, practices, and policies. Prior to her most recent tenure at the University of Connecticut, Michelle worked as a Human Resources Consultant with the Department of Administrative Services where she led Objective Job Evaluation (OJE) studies for classifications across several statewide bargaining units and occupational types.
Michelle continually finds that the most fulfilling aspect of her different roles is the opportunity to learn about the diverse job functions within the state system, and the ability to increase her comprehension of how those functions intersect and affect each other. She believes understanding and properly aligning those connections is the key to a team, department, or agency’s success.
Michelle’s previous educational achievements include receiving a BA in Political Science from the University of Connecticut. She looks forward to deepening her understanding of the various aspects of public service administration through the MPA Fellows program.
