Account Supervisor, Rescue Agency
Michele Sok is an Account Supervisor at Rescue Agency where she oversees behavior change marketing and communications campaigns across emerging health topics such as high risk drinking, substance use prevention, opioid education, and prescription stimulant misuse. At Rescue, Michele leads campaign development and implementation across a variety of health behaviors for state and local government, non-profit and health system clients. Most recently, she helped develop and implement a licensable, evidence-based campaign that tackles opioid risk education and misuse prevention communications called “People’s Opioid Project.” It is so far running in nine states and with The Department of Veteran’s Affairs. The MPA program helped her develop the skill sets needed to best understand the needs of state and local governments and not-for-profit organizations, and develop behavior change that will have the largest impact on high risk and vulnerable populations. Before joining Rescue in 2016, Michele served as an Associate Director at YouGov, a market research firm based out of the UK working on research methodologies, planning, implementation and data analysis around topics including childhood learning and education. Her MSR was critical in providing her with the skill sets she needed for research design.
During her time in the DPP program Michele worked for the Newington Board of Education as part of her IPP for both years of graduate school. To gain the most out of the MPA program, Michele encourages students to ask as many questions as you can, attend seminars, go on the public service trip and make as many friends as you can– they will be the friends and colleagues you keep for the rest of your life. There’s so much to learn and gain from the MPA experience and you will certainly be well prepared for whatever job you take.
Michele currently resides in Torrington, Connecticut with her family. In her free time, Michele loves spending time with her husband Mike, their new baby boy Matthew, and their dog Izzy.
