Nonprofits have been an interest of mine since grade school. While in 6th grade, I helped start a campaign to raise money for my city’s water treatment plant. I continued my philanthropic work all the way through high school and college, volunteering or working for various nonprofit organizations, such as, the International Rainbow for Girls, the United Way of Payne County, the Masonic Charity Foundation of Oklahoma, Resilient Payne County and the First Christian Church Guthrie. Post-graduation, I worked for the Oklahoma State University Foundation raising money for the College of Veterinary Medicine.

Earning a Master of Public Administration will allow me to build on my skills and abilities while expanding my knowledge base of not-for-profit organizations. Being a graduate student in the School of Public Policy will create the opportunities for me to learn from people who are also committed to helping their communities. This will further shape me into a more educated and experienced nonprofit professional equipped to serve as a leader of change.
