Manager in the 17/24K Production Chief Office, Pratt and Whitney
Ian Mangione is currently an Industrialization Manager in the 17/24K Production Chief Office at Pratt & Whitney. He represents the industrial operations strategy of the program office, providing project leadership across disciplines to ensure that engineering changes made for customer engines happen on time. When hired, his boss and senior director complimented his MPA skillset, noting how it can offer a unique perspective within the company.
Ian is also an executive board member of PW Emerging Professionals, an employee resource group. In this role, he supports the group’s mission at remote PW sites. He also is engaged with projects that support PW corporate social responsibility strategy.
Ian is a member of the Board of Directors for West Hartford Community Theater. In this role, Ian created and maintains the organization’s strategic plan, looking to increase community partnerships and strengthen the functionality of the board.
Ian is also a certified soccer national assistant referee and member of the Professional Referee Organization Development Group, training to become a referee in Major League Soccer. You may recognize him on the sideline at a Hartford Athletic match. In the past, Ian has been invited to referee in several prestigious tournaments including the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Championships and the Major League Soccer Generation Adidas Cup.
Ian’s advice to current students is to do your best to meet every classmate, every professor, every administrator and every alumni. You become a better person and student when you open your mind about how others impact the world around them.
In any free time left, Ian is a wedding officiant. He lives in Farmington with his wife Kassondra, a bookstagram influencer, (@keepitkassual) and cat, Cosmo, (@heycosmocat) who, while not an influencer, still has more followers than Ian.
