Expected MPA 2017
Courtney Anglin is a second year MPA student from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She loves to travel, teach kids to swim, read, cook and attend music and sporting events. Before joining the Masters of Public Administration program, Courtney majored in Communications and minored in Business at UConn’s main campus in Storrs, graduating in May 2015. As an undergraduate student, Courtney interned for the senior U.S. Senator of Alabama, Richard Shelby (R), and for the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA). The latter turned into a full-time position, where Courtney has worked as the Operations and Administrative Assistant since August 2014.
Courtney is an MPA student and is earning a Graduate Certificate in Public Financial Management. In addition to the UConn MPA program’s extensive alumni network and many other factors, the ability to take courses online while working full-time made the decision to remain at UConn for graduate school an easy one. She really looks forward to collaborating with faculty and other MPA students on the Capstone Project.
After graduation, Courtney plans to continue her education at law school. Courtney’s passion is children. Once she has received her J.D., Courtney wants to work with nonprofits and the judicial system in child advocacy either as a lobbyist, agency attorney or children’s attorney/guardian ad litem. Her advice to future students is to always go to your professors for help and network with peers.
