On April 22, 2019, DPP Assistant Professor Dr. Kerri Raissian and Assistant Professor and Program Director Dr. Jennifer Dineen participated in the Legislative Informational Forum on Gun Safety and Public Health.  They joined State Representatives Jillian Gilchrest, Matthew Ritter, and Christine Palm as well as a panel of healthcare, law, policy leaders, physicians, and gun violence group representatives.  The discussion covered the role of healthcare providers in preventing gun violence, the leading types of gun violence and the impact on individuals and communities.  Gun violence is a major public health issue, and it is time for legislation to make a change in order to protect the safety of the community.
