Undergraduate Programs

Undergraduate courses in Public Policy seek to teach students to:

  • Identify, interpret, and solve public problems,
  • Communicate clearly and cogently, and
  • Act effectively and fairly.

Public policy courses prepare students in the core set of research, problem solving and communication skills that many contemporary employers desire. Coursework in public policy can also help prepare students for success at graduate study in areas such as survey research, public administration, law, and urban planning.

In addition to individual courses, the Department of Public Policy offers the following options for undergraduate students: a minor in Public Policy, individualized major, and a fast-track to MPA.
