Expected MPA 2017
B.A. Public Administration and Political Science, Rhode Island College
Prior to the MPA Program, Brian studied at Rhode Island College, where he double majored in Public Administration and Political Science with a minor in Business Management. During his senior year he interned at the Rhode Island Department of Health in the Office of Vital Records, assisting the office transition to an online system of reporting Death and Fetal Death. In his spare time he enjoys golfing and recreational sports. Brian represented the Rhode Island College Anchormen for 4 years as a center on the ice hockey team. He is an avid Boston Bruins and New England Patriots fan.
Brian’s undergraduate adviser, a UConn MPA graduate, highly recommended the MPA Program because of its great graduate placement rate and distinguished faculty. Currently in his first year, he has been taking his core classes but been intrigued by his Public Finance class. At this point he intends to receive a Certificate in Public Financial Management which the MPA Program is currently ranked #7 in the country by US News.
After graduation, Brian aspires to work for a state budget office, preferably in his home state of Rhode Island. His advice for potential students is to, “take advantage of the opportunities inside the program. There are Graduate Assistantships available and the IPP program enables you to get your MPA without accumulating more student debt.”
