Master of Public Administration Program (MPA)

The Master of Public Administration (MPA) program at the University of Connecticut provides students with a dynamic and integrated approach to the field of public policy and management. Practical experiences are combined with theory, analysis, and case studies to make our program challenging and job-relevant. The MPA program prepares students for leadership roles in the public and nonprofit sectors, as well as for private sector positions that are involved with the public service. The flexibility of the MPA program allows students to design their specific internships, concentrations, and capstone projects to best meet their interests and goals.

Undergraduate Opprtunities

We offer undergraduate courses at the Storrs and Greater Hartford campuses.  Our minor can be a great compliment to a number of UConn majors, such as economics, political science, sociology, urban and community studies, business, family studies, and many others.  Our ‘fast track’ program allows undergraduate students to enroll in graduate classes to reduce the time to complete the MPA degree.  Some students have been able to complete the MPA degree, which normally takes two years of full-time study, in only one year beyond their bachelor degree.  An individualized major is also a nice option for students interested in public policy.
