Robert BifulcoAssociate ProfessorRobert Bifulco has a Ph.D. in Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University. Before coming to the University of Connecticut, Dr. Bifulco held a post-doc position at Duke University’s Sanford Institute of Public Policy, and has worked as an analyst in the New York State Education Department and the Erie County (New York) Division of Budget. His research focuses on education policy. He has published articles on measuring school performance, whole-school reform, educational resource disparities, and charter schools. He has published research articles in several peer reviewed journals including Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, Evaluation Review, Education Finance and Policy,and Economics of Education Review. His most recent research examines the effects of school choice on racial segregation and the effects of racial segregation on long-term student outcomes. He also currently has a contract with the Connecticut State Department of Education to evaluate the state’s interdistrict magnet, charter school, and open choice programs. In addition to his faculty position in the Department of Public Policy, Dr. Bifulco is affiliated with the UConn Department of Economics and the UConn Center for Education Policy Analysis. He is an active member of the American Education Finance Association and the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management. |
