Barry Simon

Executive Director and CEO, Gilead Community Services

Barry Simon has been the Executive Director and CEO of Gilead Community Services since 1996.  He has spent the past 22 years in the Not-for-profit healthcare industry and has an employment history with a broad perspective and keen insight of operations, development, marketing, finance, and clinical services in hospital, educational, and community based facilities.  He is an accomplished strategic planner with a successful record of developing and implementing innovative, recovery oriented programs.  He is an effective communicator with a proven ability to build and lead cohesive teams, and to develop and maintain strategic alliances in a rapidly changing political, economic, and cultural climate. He started his career in direct service as a psychotherapist, worked as a crisis clinician in emergency rooms, developed adolescent programming for a community hospital, and started at Gilead Community Services as a Program Director and then was the Director of Clinical Services.  He is well known in the legislative and public policy arena as an advocate for his agency and for all community providers in the state.
